The American Dollar - The American Dollar

The American Dollar by The American Dollar

4...according to our on Wed 14 May, 2008.

In this week are a couple of CD's by an American band called The American Dollar which are both pretty cool. I'll write a couple of lines on each of 'em. Why? Cos I feel like it. Must you question everything? The Technicolour Sleep was their last album (I Think) and it's a wierd mix of post rock, shoegazing and other things. I'm not sure what those other things are hence the vagueness but I know they're there. Think The American Analog Set, Sigur Ros, Epic 45, Below The Sea, bits of Brian Eno etc. It's epic sounding stuff if I'm honest and it sounds like they've spent some time crafting this huge sounding record. Speaking of huge, did anyone see that massive cow in the news the other day? It was fucking huge. I've never seen anything like it.... it was like a massive wierd giant horsecow thing. I won't sleep tonight.... I digress...We have another CD by The American Dollar this week. This one is self titled and I believe it's their debut and it sounds an awful lot like the last album I just heard by them. My advice is to try one of 'em and if you like that go back for the other. There's no prizes for being clever and getting both at once unless you really want to. I just don't want you to feel pressured that's all. They took a couple of weeks to arrive from the US so we can get more in easily enough so no worries OK?
