What we say about God Smiled [ The Moody Boyz Remix ] / Dub Take, by Lee Perry vs The Moody Boyz
This record left our Ant feeling ecstatic.
The wise among you will be interested in picking up the great Lee Perry Vs. The Moody Boyz 'God Smiled ' 12" on On U-Sound. It's a strictly limited promo only dubstep 2 tracker that'll have yer bassbins begging for Mercy. Only 300 have been pressed up and they wont last long so best get your skates on before your crying over an ebay auction. This has the master Perry waffling on about ganja and how he can beat Lex Luther with his Teddy Bear. You'd expect nothing less from someone who was seen walking backwards around the streets of Kingston hitting the floor with a hammer before burning his studio to the ground. This one has all the elements of a good dubstep track and is gonna be bustin out of soundsystems this summer. Crisp production and shimmering effects. One per person as this is well limited and it's gonna be worth a mint like.
What the label says about God Smiled [ The Moody Boyz Remix ] / Dub Take, by Lee Perry vs The Moody Boyz :
Yes indeed, this really is the first new release from the legendary On-U Sound since time and then time again, and what a way to return. Taken from Lee Perry’s forthcoming Adrian Sherwood-produced album, ‘God Smiled’ is the first of a series of insanely limited pressing promotional remix 12”s, each of which will carry monumental rubs and re-dubs by some of today’s most in-demand studio dons. No more names can be announced yet, but there is a common thread to their sonic styles, and you can sure every mans dem is on their a-game for this prestigious project. Leading the charge, Tony Thorpe continues his incredible recent run of bespoke heavyweight Moody Boyz makeovers with an epic seven and a half minute excursion that puts his Amy and Erykah remixes flat back in their chairs, stirring up a righteous echomania for the 21st century that sounds like a herd of rhinos brocking out to Fela’s Africa 70 horns with live sound mixed by… well, Adrian Sherwood. Don’t front – this really is an eye-wateringly restricted pressing, and it WILL be mercilessly hunted down in baying packs by both obsessive On-U Sound acolytes and dubstep addicts alike. Likely to sell out in just about the time it takes to play both sides right through, you are advised in the strongest possible terms to place your orders without delay. That means right now, THIS VERY MINUTE. As I write, it’s in stock and available, but it won’t stay like that for much longer, as copies are being allocated hand over fist on a first-come-first-served basis. Tick tock… we dunn.
