EMI continue to plunder the depths of the Radiohead back catalogue with a new retrospective called 'The Best of'. Catchy. It does what it says on the tin mind you. Available on 4LP box set (looks lovely), 2 CD (limited edition with bonus disc available for a short time only apparently) and a DVD featuring loads of their infamous pop videos. Not really much point reviewing a Radiohead best of as you've probably heard almost every track on it already, and if you're a fan you've probably got every track on here already. Still it's a nice retrospective. On 2nd June, Parlophone will release the long-awaited The Best Of Radiohead. Their first ever career retrospective, to be made available both physically and digitally, The Best Of will bring together the singles, key album tracks and live favourites spanning the band’s entire Parlophone Records career.
In their 12 year history with the label, Radiohead have sold in excess of 25 million records worldwide, have achieved platinum status in 17 countries and multi-platinum in 9, and have won two Grammy Awards. They have also become one of the most iconic and critically acclaimed bands ever, with their seminal albums OK Computer and The Bends hailed as masterpieces and being consistently voted in the Top 5 All Time Albums polls in the UK.
