This record left our Phil feeling unmoved.

Over the last few Subtle albums I've gradually found them getting less and less enjoyable. Back in the days when they were more or less Themselves I was a bit of a fan and the early Subtle stuff was cool. The last album I didn't get at all.....and here's their brand new album Exiting Arm!! I don't like this. I think it's the rock guitars that put me off.... occasionally they wander off into Chilli Peppers territory and this album continues with more of that rock sound.... Fog traveled over to the rock side of things pretty successfully I though, Why? has mourned over to quirky college indie rock successfully 'n all.... I'm not sure what Subtle are turning into but I'm not enormously keen on it. Sorry lads.... I've played the album 3 times to see if it grows and I still don't like it!

The final part in the trilogy of records that started out with ‘A New White’ followed by ‘For Hero : For Fool’, with missing links filled in by ‘Wishingbone’ and ‘Yell&Ice’, ‘Exiting Arm’ is the deepest and most accessible Subtle long player.
Subtle tour the world in 2008, including festivals worldwide in the Summer, followed by a headline tour throughout Europe in the Autumn.   The album has been receiving extensive hype from The Wire and Pitchforkmedia.com amongst others, and fan awareness is high.
