I think I'm usually reasonably unkind to Spiritualized records as I normally harp on about heroin and the such and it's probably a bit unfair. I really shouldn't mention heroin at all in my Spiritualized reviews. OK starting from now. New single then..... 'Soul On Fire'..... is Spiriualized by numbers and while it's catching me in a reasonably good mood I don't mind this. Sounds like a pretty timeless tune and the string filled chorus is as anthemic as you'd expect while it plods along desperately tugging at your heartstrings. I like the minimal artwork though.... The cover if Daniel Johnston's 'True Love Will Find You In The End' is pretty good as well though I can't but help think of The Verve when I hear it. I suppose they share the same sorts of fans. Which one did the Drugs Don't work? Enough of that. I can live with this just cos I like that album he did with the Sun City Girls so much...

'Soul on fire' is the first single from the incredible new Spiritualized album, Songs in A&E.

A pop song in the way that Spiritualized can only do, this is an emotional and epic and as Jason Spaceman says ''it just makes you feel good'.

The single will be available on 7" red vinyl and CD.

The 7" will feature 'True love will find you in the end', a cover of the Daniel Johnston song that has become a live favourite at recent shows.

The CD will feature an exclusive track 'Harmony 2 (and then a miracle...) which is an extended version of the piano harmony piece on the album.
