Look See Proof - Discussions

Discussions by Look See Proof

3...according to our on Thu 22 May, 2008.

After that hard work I had a power nap and now I'm suitably refreshed and spinning the Look See Proof 'Discussions' 7" which is the latest single on Weekender for a grilling. This has a London shouty punky rock thing happening. It does little in the way of entertain me but its far from an atrocity. The B-side has an Andy Theakstone mix of Don't Say a Word. I really wanted a Jamie Theakston mix which he could have knocked out in five minutes between snorting coke and banging hookers.

“CARNAGE AND DEVOTION – PROOF OF YOUTH IF EVER IT WAS NEEDED” –  TOM GOODWYN, NME  “TWO AND A HALF MINUTES OF THROTTLE, JERK AND BOMBAST” – GIGWISE.COM ‘A CLUB NME SENSATION…THAT THEY’RE INDIE IN EXCELSIS IS AN INDISPUTABLE FACT’ – MARK BEAUMONT, NME “A BREATH OF FRESH AIR” – DOM GOURLAY,  DROWNED IN SOUND “PURE POP WITH ALL THE GOOD BITS PRESENT AND CORRECT” – NME
THE 4TH SINGLE FOR LOOK SEE PROOF ON WEEKENDER SEES MORE OF THE 4 PIECE TRADEMARKED JITTERY ARTY POP. WHILST A MAGPIE LIKE APPROACH MEANS THEY DRAW ON MANY INFLUENCES THEY HAVE A SOUND VERY MUCH OF THEIR OWN WHILST ALSO BEING INSTANTLY FAMILIAR AND A FLOOR-FILLER TO BOOT.  PRODUCED BY RUSS KEFFERT (THE RAKES, LARRIKIN LOVE) THE SINGLE PRECEDES THEIR DEBUT ALBUM ‘BETWEEN HERE AND THERE’ SET FOR A JUNE 2ND RELEASE.
