Gemma Ray’s yearning voice evokes the spirits of Loretta Lynn, Dusty Springfield and other sirens of the late ‘50s and early ‘60s, and gives them a gutsy 21st Century twist.
Produced by the maverick Michael J Sheehy, formerly of cult legends Dream City Film Club. Gemma has released excellent material before, but never has her undoubted talent been as focussed as here.   Gemma Ray was invited to play a showcase at MIDEM this year. Her powerful delivery, photogenic looks and sheer quality of her songs took the place by storm. She has performed often with alt.blues legend Seasick Steve and will share the stage with him again soon.    Released on limited edition vinyl 7” (300 copies only).
