Robedoor - Closer To The Cliff

Closer To The Cliff by Robedoor

Robedoor are wicked. Their sound is totally apocalyptic. 'Closer To The Cliff' is more of their brand of ultra dark soundscapes full of menace and doom. They sound evil which is always good. But evil in a cool way not in a bad way like stabbing babies or something. 'Cocoon Of The Cross' is a sweet dark ambient tune that'll be perfect for unwinding to after a big killing spree.

Amplifier ritualizing taken to its illogical extreme. Since forming in early 2004, the LA drone duo has evolved its minimal caveman exorcisms into a wasted zone between slow-motion black prayers and raw war rage, playing constant shows (including a stint in the UK) amidst a steady stream of limited vinyl, tapes, and CDRs.

«...near static walls of low end that build from a minimal throb to a seriously freaked out sonic squall. Imagine Birchville at its most noisy and damaged, then fuck it up a bit, slow it down some, crank the PA to 11, and stand back as the amps literally begin to liquefy, the stage slowly transformed into some rumbling pulsing black lump, the musical version of watching a star implode, or a planet die, all rendered in lots and lots of low end and plenty of grinding glorious feedback.» - Aquarius Records.
