Highpoint Lowlife have some special limited edition joy coming out on double 180g viny,l but before that happens we're treated to the 'Magnetism, That Electricity' collection on CD in stunning black on black print packaging in slimline DVD case with postcard, sticker and all hand numbered of 100. This is the work of four artist each of who's contributions are all strong tracks. Mandel Brot Set, Fisk Industries, The Village Orchestra, The Marcia Blaine School For Girls. It's all pretty dark gear ranging from abstract, ambient to more beat orientated stuff to dark hip hop and beyond. Me likes.Following a Highpoint Lowlife showcase gig in January of this year, the label asked the artists who played to contribute some fresh tracks for a double vinyl release, taking up one whole side each, and the result is a stunning album of some utterly devasting music, pressed on 180g heavyweight vinyl, comprised of four EPs from Mandelbrot Set, Fisk Industries, The Village Orchestra, and The Marcia Blaine School For Girls, all immaculately mastered by Twerk. Limited to 300 copies, each with hand-numbered and stamped certificate of authenticity, housed in a black paper inner sleeves and a thick clear PVC outer wallet. There is a different optical illusion printed on each of the discs that can be viewed when the record is spinning on a turntable. The four EPs range musically from the epic drone-noise sprawl of Mandelbrot, some of the dirtiest heaviest sounds ever dropped by Fisk Industries, a 19 minute electronic odyssey from The Village Orchestra, and three tracks of severely skewed dancefloor cuts from The Marcia Blaine School For Girls.
