Again, we take on lone the erudition of our friends in the north… Heavyweight butter dubs on Mungo's Hi Fi’s Scotch Bonnet imprint. Rootah, the other half of Jahtari steps up with a blisteringly authentic digital sound again, pumped out with analogue gear. Rootah’s production sounds like a cross between Basic Channel and the most delightfully obscure 80s dancehall and this is what forms the crux of his sound; a Detroit techno background coupled with a deep understanding of true dub. He has previously appeared with a slew of massive MP3 only tracks, but has been afforded a full blooded vinyl cut here on the classic dubplate 10" format. ‘Get It Already’ and ‘She Gone’ have a slightly darker more melancholy sound, while the ‘She Gone’ dub provides a whole new drum pattern which gives the track a completely different flavour. 'Get It Already' is a slow burning dubbers riddim, obviously informed by the production styles of King Tubby and the Wackies stable to a very high standard, featuring roots deep subs and perfectly placed FX on a riddim ideally suited to Mikey Murka's singjay styles, easily comparable to Tikiman or Sugar Minott for a quick reference. 'She Gone' on the flipside is a grinding digi dancehall riddim toasted again by Mikey Murka, this time adopting a far more melodic sung style. This brilliant riddim is also included in unadorned dub version too. Wheelin'!
