Next up on Fire Records is an epic 2CD 36 track project from Various Artists on Fire Records. Chamber Music - James Joyce (1907). 1-36 is a collection of interpretations of the poets 1907 works on the theme of love. What I've heard so far is very serious and classic sounding with parts that are very sublime. There's a ton of folks on here all with their unique approach to the source material: Jessica Bailiff, Ed Harcourt, Virgin Passages, Kinski, Willy Mason, Mercury Rev, Text of Light, Flying Saucer Attack, Duke Garwood, HTRK, Airport Studies, Gravenhurst, Bardo Pond, Sweet Trip, Mike Watt, Califone and heaps more but my fingers will fall off if I type them all out and then I wouldn't be able to tell you about...

A good few years in the making comes an epic collaboration between Fire records and 36 artists in an interpretation of James Joyce’s 1907 collection of poems on various themes of love.  With contributions from major established artists (Mercury Rev, Ed Harcourt, Peter Buck, Lee Renaldo, etc) and lesser known cult players (Jessica Bailiff, Gravenhurst, Duke Garwood, etc) this represents a sweeping but unified expression of Joyce’s early love-hungry verse.
