Various - Bip_Hop Generation Volume 9

Bip_Hop Generation Volume 9 by Various

After no short time away from the physical release frontline, Bip_Hop returns to action with the ninth volume of their acclaimed exclusive international electronic arts compendium. As usual, each artist contributes two new tracks, many specially created for this collection. Kammerflimmer Kollektief is one of the most interesting bands in Germany, originating from the Payola family, then signed to Temporary Residence (USA) and responsible for several albums on Staubgold. The Kammerflimmer Kollektief plays music that should not be put down in writing, because it would burn the very paper its written on. Spaceheads are Andy Diagram onTrumpet and Richard Harrison on drums, both from the UK. Spaceheads generate live loops and improvise, processing their traditional instruments through electronics as they play. Andrey Kiritchenko is known among Ukrainian experimental music fans as founder of Nexsound records, and a musician who has largely contributed into the development of electronic music scene in Ukraine and already considered as one of the premiere experimental artist from Eastern Europe, releasing on Staalplaat, Ad Noiseam, and many others. Illàchime Quartet is an Italian instrumental ensemble that joins electronics with acoustic instruments. Their aim is to intrigue and seduce the audience by means of an unconventional, highly cinematic sonic experience. They released an album on Cuneiform in 2004. Hauschka is Dusseldorf-based pianist / composer Volker Bertelmann, whose work is based upon an exploration of the possibilities of the “prepared” piano, making it as much a machine for generating rhythm and texture as for melody. He collaborates here with South Londoners Antenna Farm, the duo of Alastair Leslie and David Howell, who utilise a wide range of source materials and approaches, navigating a unique, hybrid path through a mixture of analogue experiments, field recording. Hailing from Sydney, Australia, Adrian Klumpes is a trained jazz pianist who has formed a cornerstone of the avant-electro-jazz group Triosk.
