Serafina Steer: 'Public Spirited' (Static Caravan) 3" CD. Four track EP from the English harp plucker and observational singer song writer, Ms Steer has a certain ear for overheard conversations which are, I think, woven into her stories. Her singing voice veers from her talking voice and back to her elongated tones from line to line, the backing is percussive and electronic as a foundation for her lilting harp washes and plucks. Lovingly packaged in minute book form with lyrics and illustrations by the on point Van operation, this very limited edition (200) Japanese tour CD will no doubt create more interest in this fast developing, singular talent. Be quick!3" cd in booklet (design by Ben Javens). These have been produced for Sefa's Japanese tour and there's 200 in total.
