Big Dog/ Harry's Theme by Wilson Tan

Wilson Tan: 'Big Dog' (El Rancho) 7" What the fook is this!? Defiantly on some western, North America barndance storming, hoe down type shizz. Yes it has banjos, twanging guitars and a kinda of oompa lumpa style snare crack rhythm topped of with what sounds like Deputy Dawgs brother howlng at the moon. It's a hillbilly folk dance and you're not invited.Oh go on then you can come along, but leave yer shotgun at home. Yee Haaa! on turgid browny-red vinyl only.

And one month later I open my door to find stacks of boxes...my self assemble mail order bride? Not yet...
I do however have the greatest pleasure to announce Wilson Tan's debut single 'Big Dog' will hit the record shops on Monday 11th March 2008. It will also be available to download from ITunes, TuneTribe and various other download sites. That's not all folks...El Rancho Records online shop will be open for business very soon (details to follow). Log on and you'll be able to purchase this super limited release directly from the dusty shelves of the ranch and have it sent to your door in days!
The limited 7" Heavyweight Brown vinyl will be priced at 4 pounds and includes the lead single 'Big Dog' and B side 'Harry's Theme'. Two tracks unlike anything in today's musical climate. Two songs which blend the roots of country music with dub origins and take it into a contempory landscape. If 'Big Dog' isn't the sing-a-long, bounce-a-long song of the summer i'll never drink Tequila again! That's the biggest threat I can possibly make! So don't hesitate to snap up your own copy. The Debut offering is a true collectors item in the making, featuring beautiful one off artwork by Saskia Pomeroy.

It's a stonker!! If Merle Haggard met King Tubby on trucker speed. Has a catchy wee guitar riff that sticks in your head, it also transcends genre. The B side is also a quirky little gem!The world definitely needs more songs about dogs.
