Bumblebeez - Flyin Down to Rio

Flyin Down to Rio by Bumblebeez

DJ ‘An LSD-laced sugar lump of disco, rock, rap,
electro-funk and a smattering of house.’

FACT 'Like the Avalanches remixing Beck into a mess of day-glo hip pop fun.’

Since releasing limited EP ‘White Printz’ and club favourite ‘Doctor
Love’ Australian brother sister duo Bumblebeez have left everyone from
Annie Mac to Erol Alkan eagerly waiting for more colourful eclectic
madness.

The siblings Chris and Pia Colonna are now set to release the
forthcoming tropical single ‘Rio’ in March. An ode to carnival central
the track transports us to a far away multicoloured futuristic
wonderland. Glued together with some beat boxing, Chris’s mix of
electronic jabs and sparking of random samples from his keyboard
provide the salsa infused backdrop while Pia’s frivolous lyrics depict
the ultimate girl on girl holiday fun “I’m flying down to Rio, just to
meet my girl Cleo and go to Venezuela and there be no better bitches.”

Some what of a music veteran at 25 Chris started making music when he
was 13 and has acquired a massive back catalogue of demos due to his
notorious short attention span and ‘one mic, one take’ ethos when in
the studio. The album 'Prince Umberto & The Sister Of Ill' (due April
14th) has been co-produced by the magnificent James Ford (Simian
Mobile Disco, Klaxons, Arctic Monkeys) who on working with Colonna
says “Chris is one of the most prolific people I met. Ideas pour out
of him.”

‘Rio’ – a wonderful modern party anthem in waiting with remixes from
Herve, Crookers and Etienne De Crecy– is sure to mark the prominent
return of Bumblebeez on our stereos and in our hearts in 2008. Watch
