Numbers: Is That Really True (Tomlab) Letter W in Tomlab's ongoing, soon to end series? Is all fuzzing bass throb and wonky keyboard refrain. It's almost like a garage band take on a drunken Stereolab. Rough and ready vocals almost shouted in a call and response style. The flipside is a cover of Crimson and Clover originally by Tommy James and The Shondells, again the organ is to the fore with metallic guitars clashing with the fuzzy feel of the a-side.Numbers emerges from the dusk of this year’s full-length ‘Now You Are This’ with a pair of rollicking jams.
‘Is That Really True’ takes on the question of real knowledge with a fuzz bass and drone organ.
On the flip is a cover of the Tommy James and The Shondells classic ‘Crimson and Clover’.
