Late Of The Pier: 'The Bears Are Coming' (Zarcop) With a dazzling Bridget Riley style sleeve and a pair of see through lazer lens specs-maybe for an additional spang out. This effort from latest new fops on the block is a alternate take on the trendy poonk-foonk style. I say alternate take cos' it comes on like a slightly deranged version of Bow Wow Wow. With squiggly keylines, glass percussion, tribal drums and hell for leather chuggging towards the end. As befits a recording produced by Erol Alkan there's some disco style relicks courtesy of Beyond The Wizards Sleeve and Joakim highly reminiscent of a certain Black Devil Disco Club. The new Indie disco indeed.

Castle Donington quartet Late Of The Pier return on 3rd March 2008 with brilliant new single ‘The Bears Are Coming’. The single will be available on limited edition 12” vinyl and digital download and will be released on the band’s own Zarcorp label. This amazing package features remixes from the fantastic Emperor Machine, Joakim and Beyond the Wizards Sleeve.

If Late Of The Pier lit up 2007 with their two irrepresible sold out singles - Space And The Woods (Way Out West Records) and Bathroom Gurgle (Moshi Moshi), 2008 is set to see them blow the whole thing apart as they continue to push things forward and gleefully dance all over the boundaries between genres.
