Ian W - Oslo Solo

Oslo Solo by Ian W

Ian W: 'Oslo Solo' (Blackest Rainbow) Is a six track document of 'spontaneous composition' for solo guitar and FX pedals and is one of five releases we have this week from this freeform cdr imprint. Limited to sixty copies, these tracks range from the extended jam and sound explorations of the free-rock/noise vein of the likes of Wooden Wand etc. These wonderings up and down the neck scale, recorded in what sounds like a live environment-incidental noises, chatter and what-not is left to bleed into the proceedings. Some of it sounds bluesy, other bits sound like a drunken Vinni Reilly on a scuzzier guitar. If you like labels like these underground operatives or the more academic approach of labels like Important then you'll appreciate this sonic treat.

>Ian W is Ian Wadley. He was in an Austrailian band that came over here and played shows a few years ago, total gutter garage rock. Here Ian perfroms in Oslo solo, hence the title, improvisational guitar, bluesy and bleaky soundtrack music, this reminds me of a ton of stuff, even Haino, at his most pluckery. Limited to 60 copies.
