I love this song since hearing it on Soccer AM I can't get it out of my head! I've been hoping to hear it on the radio but nothing as yet - what a shame. Everyone needs to hear songs like this it brightens your life!

What we say

Rating: unmoved This record left our Phil feeling unmoved.

My Federation have a 7" out on Eye Industries which I can't really get a handle on.... It's like a synth version of Free or something. It's a decent catchy tune which is well strung together and the sentiment about not wanting to die is a good one. Let's face who wants to die? Maybe this will help suicidal folks and pull 'em from the other side? I don't know but I'd like to think a record can have that power.... It might sound a bit Toploader as well. Yellow vinyl and it's called 'Don't Wanna Die'

What the label says:

·    Describing themselves as ‘psychedelic electro rock with balls and bells’, Brighton-based My Federation return with the follow up single to their debut E.P Honey Bee which was released back in April 2007.

·    My Federation are brimming with creative energy, which is the first thing that strikes you when you hear their new single ‘Don’t Wanna Die’. Due for release on 24th March 2008 it features lusty layers of vocal harmony, juicy analogue synths that are about fit to burst, pulsating guitars and a chorus which is so catchy you will be singing it long after the lights have gone out and the record has finished!

About the humble 7":

The humble 7" is the smallest of the vinyl formats (not including the ridiculous 5") and it's the perfect medium for transporting a couple of new songs by up and coming bands straight into your ears. They're fun and they take up less space in your house than something bigger would. They come in a plethora of exciting colours and fantastical packages, and you can fit about 14 minutes onto one 7". You may have to get up every few minutes to put a new record on but think of the exercise. Don't forget every record you buy plays at least 2 speeds (depending on your stereo) and you need to play all records on all speeds to get the maximum joy from your purchase.
