Cocktails by Jacob Borshard

Twee indie pop time next. OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOh yeah. This is the world inside the head of Darren Hayman & Belle & Sebastian. Jacob Borshard is one of their acolytes & he's written a cute as a baby panda "soundtrack" called "Cocktail" which has two tracks the first of which, 'Nine Cocktails' is totally overshadowed by an utterly charming 'n' wistful, strumalonga version of 'Kokoma', a Beach Boys tune. It's actually incredibly well done, with it's pumping twee little heart proudly on display. I've decided to spare this dinky 3" CDs life, if only for it's pleading eyes, recorder solo and sweet little booties which made me weep from my eye. Check www.weepop.net for more detail as I have thangs to do, dammit!

Based around the soundtrack to Tom Cruises' seminal slice of 80's cheesepop, Cocktail - this single features two tracks - one a cover of The Beach Boys 'Kokomo', and the other is an original track which references every other song on the soundtrack. With beautifully designed and hand drawn artwork by Jacob himself, each copy is signed by Jacob too. You can find out more about Jacob Borshard on www.creebobby.com
