Sindre Bjerga - Split Series #2 Cam Deas

Split Series #2 Cam Deas by Sindre Bjerga

Never one's to shy away from the strange and experimental side of things are Dirty Demos who seem to unleash things in batches. This week we're blessed with a few exciting things. One of which has found itself in front of me. A slick little packaged discie which is the second installment in their split series. This comes from Norwegian drone master Sindre Bjerga who seems to pop up on the label frequently, sometimes with that Iverson dude. His contribution is a recording of a live performance which apparently was "An intense performance, entirely constructed with a cassette recorder, egg whisk, microphone and distortion pedal" If that doesn't sell it too you then I simply give up. Strange and interesting otherworldly sounds galore that build and grow. Cam Deas opt for a more conventional too to create the sounds. The guitar... but not as you know it. Occasionally it sounds like its wailing for mercy in a metal cave. The sound mutates with quieter parts and effects. Bloody good like.. in an edition of 40 copies.

Second edition of the Split Series. Track 1 is a twenty minute piece by Norwegian noise lord Sindre Bjerga, recorded at last months gig in Dorset presented by Dirty Demos and Dea Sea Liner label. An intense performance, entirely constructed with a cassette recorder, egg whisk, microphone and distortion pedal. Subtle wispy low drone start, slowly progressing with bubbling noise gentley piecing the surface. As the drone picks up pace, the noise builds up tention and an explosion of colourful shimmering sound takes place.

Track 2 is an abstract studio piece by UK based artist, Cam Deas. Cam takes the listener on a wild trip of warped and bent guitar. Treated sections of sound are fused together, creating an ever changing patchwork of moods, with loud noise moments and quiet delicate passages.
