REM - Supernatural Superserious

OVERVIEW: REM are back with their hotly anticipated new album ‘Accelerate’ produced by Jacknife Lee and REM. All songs are written by REM – Michael Stipe, Peter Buck & Mike Mills. Recorded in Dublin, Vancouver and Athens, it’s the band’s first studio album since ‘Around The Sun’ in 2004 and the 14th of their glorious career. Long time collaborators drummer Bill Rieflin and guitarist Scott McCaughey also feature on the album. Many of the eleven songs that shape ‘Accelerate’ were road-tested during a 5 night residency at Dublin’s Olympia Theatre in July 2007. Uptempo highlights include the rocket fuelled ‘Living Well’s The Best Revenge’, the classic ‘Man Sized Wreath’ and the blistering first single ‘Supernatural Superserious'. Less pacey but just as arresting are ‘Hollow Man’ and ‘Mr. Richards’. In what promises to be a busy year for REM, they headline Florida’s Langerado Music Festival March 8th and perform at Stubb’s Bar-B-Que on March 12th as part of the South by Southwest Music
