Coles Corner - the album’s standout track - is the second single and the title track from the new album, out now and described as “One of this year’s finest albums” by The Times, as “Songs of overwhelming beauty” by the NME and by Mojo as “Music to make jaws drop”.
The single is steeped in Sheffield history and a very British sense of romance and timelessness. The title refers to a local meeting place for courting couples, still referred to by name even though it hasn't existed for years. The idea for the song was conceived by Hawley whilst rhythmically pushing his two children on the swings in his local park. The video was directed by Paul Green and features the comedian Toby Foster (of Phoenix Nights fame).
Available on 7” and CD, the CD version includes I’m Absolutely Hank Marvin featuring the legend that is Hank Marvin of The Shadows. Instantly recognisable, Hank Marvin’s guitar playing has been an inspiration to thousands, including Hawley. The 7” includes brand new exclusive track, the filmic instrumental A Bird Never Flew On One Wing.
