I Was A Cub Scout - I Want You To Know That There Is Always Hope

I Want You To Know That There Is Always Hope by I Was A Cub Scout

“A cleverly crafted angle of scrumptious indie pop drenched with emotion and brilliant, bold beats” - NME
Luscious, epic and British are not words you would usually associate with an emo band. But I Was A Cub Scout are not your ordinary emo outfit – they’re two hardcore souls with passion and emotion dripping out of every pore. And it’s this passion that has captivated audiences up and down the country.    The duo, made up of Todd Marriott (vocals / synths / guitar) and William Bowerman (drums), have come a long way in the 18 months they’ve been together. They’ve supported bands like Babyshambles, Panic! At The Disco, Editors and Forward Russia, played to packed out audiences at Download and the Carling Reading and Leeds festivals and made one of the most life affirming albums of 2008, ‘I Want You To Know That There Is Always Hope’, which has been produced by Hugh Padgham (The Police / Phil Collins).
In a climate of indie band soup, I Was A Cub Scout stand apart. A very British band raised on a diet of American music. A duo who manage the feat of being both indie and rock, punk and prog, small yet big (they’ve a sound to fill arenas).
