Björk releases her brand new single ‘Innocence’ through One Little Indian Records.
‘Innocence’ sees Björk at her passionate and inventive best, and comes with a thumping backbeat that continues where her last singles ‘Earth Intruders’ and ‘Declare Independence’ left off. Bristling with intense energy this song sees Björk firmly on the march.
Taken from her new album ‘Volta’, ‘Innocence’ is written and produced by Björk, along with Timbaland and co-produced by Danja. Meanwhile, the single sleeve comes with another stunning Nick Knight shot of Björk in the statue especially designed by Bernhard Willhelm for the cover art of ‘Volta’.
Björk has also commissioned several brand new mixes of ‘Innocence’ by Simian Mobile Disco, Carsten Nicolai, Alvo Noto, Mark Stent, Jimmy Douglass and Ghostdigital which come out across a heavy weight Vinyl Double pack 12” and CD, Cat No 838TP12.
An additional DVD also comes with a selection of videos from the competition that Björk ran last year on her website, offering the chance to direct a video for ‘Innocence’.
‘Volta’ is Björk's sixth studio album and follows the release of ‘Medúlla’ in 2004. Featuring ten new and original tracks, ‘Volta’ is written and produced by Björk, with two tracks co-produced with Timbaland and one with Mark Bell.
Coming to the UK in April 2008, the Volta Tour has seen Björk take her thrilling new set across the world in series of festival performances and headline shows to considerable acclaim.
