The second single from Guilty Simpson’s debut full length features the album’s title track, a depiction of the rough neighbourhoods of his native Detroit and how they shaped the man he is today. The Turkish-psych flavoured track, produced by Oh No, actually first appeared in instrumental form on Oh No’s ‘Dr. No’s Oxperiment’ LP from last summer. Madlib produces on the Beat Konducta-style orchestra-laced flipside as Guilty rhymes on a track about jacking folks in a humourous and eerily authentic-sounding style that hasn’t been heard since Eazy E’s ‘No More ?’s’ back in ’88. Dirty, clean and instrumental for both sides.
