Black Light by Amit Erez

Also on Earsay is a CD by Amit Erez, a key player on the Israeli indie scene. 'Black Light' is a lovely sounding folk EP with a touch of spectral James Blackshaw style chiming guitar on the opening track with pure, wistful vocals. He's a very good finger magician, citing Tim Buckley & Nick Drake as major influences. There's an unmistakable Jose Gonzales/Kings of Convenience feel to later tracks on this CD, the playing is pure & exemplary & his voice carries it all off wonderfully without grating atall (unlike the aforementioned Norweigans) A most pleasing, well rounded delight i must say. If you wanna know how folk is calming the turbulent waters in the Middle east look no further than this great 5 tracker! If we sell out, please be patient as we'll have to order more from this land afar!

One of the finest singer/songwriter in Israel, Amit Erez, holds a new beautiful EP.
Black Light is a mesmerizing and enchanting convoy of well crafted songs, that pinch one's most sensitive yet solid body organ - the heart.
Three years after his debut album, Wish I Could Make It A Story, Erez shows a true evolution with his lyrics and guitar style, combining the likes of Nick Drake, Elliot Smith and Joni Mitchell to a one man's say of beauty and honesty.
