Phil says I have to be nice to Those Dancing Days and their new single 'Hitten' And you know what? As they're from Sweden and this brilliantly catchy, swirling & timeless sounding tune has well & truly trounced the others so far this week i'm darn well going to be. The keyboard sounds ancient for godsakes. The guitars casually jangle, the drums are natural & playful, female vocals shout "pure & melodic", like the girl should be in a sultry chart pop band instead, but this is what MAKES the song SO good!. And that keyboard......it sounds like it's been rotting in Julian Cope's cellar for the last two decades. This is the most easygoing single I've heard so far this year. Just effortless, addictive & slightly unpolished, like a shiny unearthed demo from a new wave band that cold shouldered the rest of the scene. A lost 80s pop classic that was to cool for the decade (hence it fits 2008 like a glove!), 'Tasty Boy' on the flip is slightly in debt to prime time Blondie but proves they've got plenty of reserve! 7"/CDsThose Dancing Days have already had a full page Radar feature in NME. Daily Star, Time Out and independent running features around single. Added to playlists at 6 Music & XFM (evening). Radio sessions confirmed on 6 & XFM. CD features bonus track "dischoe"
