Tranko - Neko 77

Curious new releases on The Great Pop Supplement. The first is a kind of slo-mo acid jazz funk thing which has elements of old Tortoise affiliates Five Style. It's a double 'A' side 7" in a circular monged sleeve by Tranko, a Japanese troupe who first offer up a minimal, psychedelic instrumental groover called 'Neko 77'. However, 'Mujam' is inbued with a very Indian feel, all Sitar & tabla psychedelic acid freak out man. Definately the side for me is this, very spiritual & hypnotic, a snaking, winding trip out of your mind leaving you thoroughly de-stressed! Ant closes his eyes & envisions being caressed by a rampant barefoot hippy chick in a chill out room in his big dippy Welsh head! What would his lass say? Limited to 300.

formidable debut from Japanese psych band. two whacked out sitar / moog jams like some holy acid mothers / popol vuh jam with ananda shankar at the controls. incredible blissed out, cosmic kraut madness all wrapped up in amazing circular indian art sleeves, 300 only on 7' wax.
