What the label says:

Since Summer 2007, THE TASTE (NICK/drums and MARIA
PATTUSCH/vocals, guitars) have been on the road as a duo (after
starting out as a trio in 2004). In just a few months they’ve achieved
what many other bands just dream about, having their track “Can’t
Get Enough of Your Dang Da-Dang” released in August on the
“Fresh, Weird & Wonderful” compilation (Pistol Records, the label of
ex-INXS manager, Chris Murphy) which managed to reach Nr. 8 on
the iTunes UK Alternative Album Charts as well as Nr. 68 on iTunes
US.
This track from THE TASTE was the best selling one on the
compilation and still is in Germany and the USA. Their song “Till
There Was You” was subsequently released in October on the “Out
of the Woods” compilation (UK, Dance to the Radio) alongside
contributions from bands like FORWARD RUSSIA!, THE PIGEON
DETECTIVES, HOWLING BELLS, SKY LARKIN and the GRAMMATICS.
During the last few months, THE TASTE have performed countless
gigs in the UK, Germany and Austria. While doing so they have
also toured as a support act for JAMIE T., WE ARE SCIENTISTS,
THE NOISETTES, FORWARD RUSSIA, TEST ICICLES, DUELS, SHIT
DISCO, THE ENEMY and TRAVIS.
TRAVIS were so impressed with the band that they immediately
invited THE TASTE to do some additional dates with them back on
their home turf in Scottland. FRAN HEALY & Co. were so thrilled
with the song “Till There Was You” that they performed it twice
with the band on stage.
Now on Rank Records, the long awaited first single of the band is
finally being released: “I Want You (B-Side: I Die When the Night
Comes) as a limited an numbered 7” vinyl single.

About the humble 7":

The humble 7" is the smallest of the vinyl formats (not including the ridiculous 5") and it's the perfect medium for transporting a couple of new songs by up and coming bands straight into your ears. They're fun and they take up less space in your house than something bigger would. They come in a plethora of exciting colours and fantastical packages, and you can fit about 14 minutes onto one 7". You may have to get up every few minutes to put a new record on but think of the exercise. Don't forget every record you buy plays at least 2 speeds (depending on your stereo) and you need to play all records on all speeds to get the maximum joy from your purchase.
