Well Blood Red Shoes have been snapped up by V2 now, their kinetic buzzsaw racket very akin to a Limey Sleater-Kinney or summat. You Bring me Down has already been a limited 7" on XL and the luscious Maggie, bless her raven locks & tempestuous lips, formed these words back then whilst scratching her bits.... "Now I have the new single from Brighton 2 piece BLOOD RED SHOES on Abeano Music. Brian's loving the sounds and I'm quite tempted to pop down their show tonight as my friend has spilt from his girlfriend today and wants a shoulder to cry on. Might as well be in an incredibly loud exciting rocky environment to muffle him out. Rocking and angular with energy to burn of the crustaceans of rejection this might just be the tonic he needs. Titles include 'You bring me down' which includes the repeated line "I'm leaving, I'm leaving, I'm leaving, I'm leaving, I'm leaving, I'm leaving, I'm leaving, I'm leaving, I'm leaving, I'm leaving, " Maybe its not best then but a great single anyway.x" So that's now on 2 x 7" & CDs for you multi format types!!

Meanwhile the pair have also found time to record an album that embraces their plaudits and emerges resplendent in all its glory. The first instalment arrives in the form of 'You Bring Me Down', a jerky, vibrant track where Laura-Mary’s short, sharp guitar bursts and Stevens energetic pounding unite perfectly. ”Its about being fed up with your life and the need to get out of a depressing situation and do it before its too late ” say the band.

It’s been a busy year on the road for Laura-Mary Carter and Steven Ansell. Having stormed T in the Park, Latitude, Lovebox, Electric Gardens and Reading & Leeds Festivals during the Summer, the hardworking twosome embarked on a two months long tour of Europe, were special guests with Maxïmo Park on a sold out tour, played with the likes of !!! (chk,chk,chk), New Young Pony Club, Les Savvy Fav, Foals, Maccabees across Europe and topped 2007 off with a handful of support dates with Biffy Clyro in November.
