What we say

Rating: happy This record left our Mingus Rude feeling happy.

A fifteen track collection of elegantly produced melodic electronica that immediately brings to mind the work of that other Japanese master of software and plug-ins Takagi Masakatsu. From the opening track it's apparent which direction this set will take you - smoothly defined keyboard lines, lilting strings and lullabye atmospherics are set amongst granular, squashed and tweaked beats. For all those familiar with the popular approach of labels like Neo Ouija, City Centre Offices etc will thrill to the bedroom aesthetics and go-to-bed calm of these most inoffensive and unchallenging musical vectors.

What the label says:

Dom Mino' (Domenico Mino') is an artist who's currently living in
London.

His tunes are exceedingly soft and delicate. Even though they're played
and controlled mainly by the electronic sounds, his “sweet pop music”
somehow reminds us the typical Japanese lyricism, yet also have the daydream-like comfortableness.

In his past, Dom Mino' provided some of his tunes for the short films and
animation pieces by a video artist Ed Holdsworth and created a huge
sensation after those video pieces have made appearances on BBC
website.

His previously unpublished piece “Scarlett,” which was supposed to be
given as a birthday song for his friend’s daughter, was recorded in
“schole compilation vol.1,” and he'll release his first full album
"Time Lapse" from schole.

About the humble CD:

The CD is essentially a small portable face mirror which has an extra feature of being able to play music (through a thing known as a CD player). These CD's are a modern invention hence them being all shiny and digital. They can hold about 80 minutes of music and apparently are indestructible as you can smear jam on them and they still play (not as nourishing as toast mind you but when you're hungry.....). They sound crystal clear and are tiny convenient things. They lack the charm and warmth of their old analogue counterparts but their portability, convenience and ease of being duplicated make them a perfect thing of a thing for most folks. Jewel cases are the worst thing ever though and they really need to stop.

'Bringing you music in return for cash.'
