8/10 according to Ant (Norman Records) on Thu 17 Jan, 2008Philippine quintet Moscow Olympics' 'Still' is spinning at 45rpm and Mingus says this reminds him of Sub- New Order band The Wake. Their sound fits perfectly into the Fraction Discs roster. Dreamy indie pop, ever so slightly jangly (in a Sarah Records kinda way) and coated in a misty haze of dusty effects that make it sound like it could have been recorded 20 or more years ago during the golden age of Factory Records.
6/10 according to jameskirkland on
not bad..not good either..drums and bass are horrible.
So, what do you think?

A quick word about reviews
The following things sometimes happen:
- one of us will like or dislike a record much more than others here do
- artists get their friends to submit suspiciously favourable reviews
- artists get their marketing team to submit even more favourable reviews
- people review stuff when they're high.
If you read a review that you think is bonkers then please do submit a better one. We like to see a bit of debate about the music we stock. You might even win our Weekly Review Competition, and with it a £10 store voucher.
Norman Records 'mini-reviews'
We would dearly love to have the time to give every record the time it merits, but sometimes there just aren't enough hours in the day.
So if you see one of our 'mini reviews', don't be offended. Don't think we can't be bothered. We're a small team and this is really just our way of saying, "Here's something worth your attention...sorry we haven't had chance to do it justice".
And, of course, feel free to submit a better review. You might even win our Weekly Review Competition, and with it a £10 store voucher.
