When was the last time you were excited by a new album by a band who are ‘truly’ independent?, a band who snarl at even being tagged with the immortal phrase ‘indie’ and prefer the term ‘DIY’, a band who refuse to be either ‘in’ or ‘out’ of fashion, a band who have self funded tours across the UK and Europe, a band who have recorded/released their own records… and love it… well it’s probably been a while then, this is their first Long Player. Pale Man Made are from Newcastle upon Tyne, England. They have previously released three E.P’s, a mini album, and two singles enjoying good Radio and Press coverage in the UK over the years (BBC1/6, Lamacq, Peel, Riley, Huw Stephens/NME) and in Europe. The band have also enjoyed extensive touring throughout the UK and Europe over the last 24 months. Blending together influences from The Fall and their favourite C86 bands, the band has developed their own unique gritty sound. Some people hate them, and some people love them, that’s why this record has been made. It’s about broken hearts, animals, hatred, jealousy, snooker players and natural history museums – That’s all you need to know…
“Its shouty, jerky, and slightly angular, its got harmonies and choruses, in fact Show of Hands has all anyone would want from their pop heroes. And theres more, 2 more tracks in fact, with samples and some darker Joy Division/Gang of Four guitar lines. What more could you want?” - IS THIS MUSIC. Tracklisting 1.
