OVERVIEW: The Cobra Dukes are a band to watch in 2008. Following on from the driving, soundtrack-esque space-pop of "Leave The Light On", Kyle Gibson & co return with a record aimed squarely at the dance-floor. "Airtight" is the kind of track that's tailor-made made for the sets of Erol Alkan & Optimo. Tough punchy bass hooks, swirling special effects and some seriously club-shaking beats make the perfect backdrop to Gibson's paean to the dark-side of physical relationships… Think the Glitter Band on E and you're coming close. Remixes come from Optimo and blog favourites Aeroplane. JD Twitch is in typically floor-filling form, attacking the Cobra Dukes jerk-time synths with some clever twists and heavy bottom end while Belgium's cosmic superheroes offer a delightfully blissed-out journey filled with dubby guitars and classic keys.
