What we say

Rating: happy This record left our ant feeling happy.

Few Nolder is a name on the minimal techno scene. 'No Mo' is the debut 12" of producer Linas Strockis. The beats are spacious and clean whilst retaining a solid groove throughout. There are some cool atmospheric flourishes as the track builds so does the bassline which is probably what attracted Paradinas to sign this up. It's like an early noughties Gigolo "wave" type bassline and then gets a lot dirtier like something from Neil Landstrumm's 'Bedrooms & Cities' album. Eventually the track gets pretty rockin and you can well imagine it doing the business on the dancefloor. It's nothing astonishingly new but it's functional and I'm actually finding it refreshing to hear some 4/4 stuff on Planet Mu. 'Brenn' on the flipside has a seriously fat monster of a bassline and a really lovely synth that shimmers and builds not unlike the excellent Red Planet material.

What the label says:

Astonishing debut from Lithuanian wonderkind Linas Strockis. Lush discoey melodic minimal techno with ecstatic builds and bowel- troubling bass.
