David E Sugar - To Yourself/ The Big H

To Yourself/ The Big H by David E Sugar

Multi-instrumentalist troubadour and 8-Bit electronic wonder David E Sugar teams up with Kitsuné for a single and shows two sides of his gifts with a songwriting gem and a dancefloor vitalizer. The 25-year-old West London producer and Warwick University philosophy graduate acknowledges the need to be innovative and creative but finds importance in doing it on his own, that’s why he stepped away from the Chip Music movement from his early beginnings and re-visited his multi-instrumentalist roots. This single is full of fresh creative energy coming from one of the most intensely prolific producers in the London scene. ‘To Yourself’ and ‘The Big H’ show how eclectic Sugar’s influences are; “I’m into Aphex Twin as well as Talking Heads, Jeff Buckley and Tom Waits”  he says.‘To Yourself’ is a chic song - the production can do no wrong with those slightly growing breaks and chip solos.‘The Big H’ is a dance track as imagined by a punk philosopher; “being innovative and creative but doing it on your own”, says Sugar.
