Hailing from Arkansas USA, Kyle Reidy's project Mar's debut album, 'The Silence' was recorded in Reykjavik Iceland, on the invitation of Sigur Ros
'The Silence' features Jimmy LaValle (of The Album Leaf, Black Heart Procession and Tristeza) and Samuli Kosminen (of Múm). The album was produced by Gunnar Tynes and Samuli Kosminen of Múm, with Axel Árnason and Jimmy LaValle.
'The Silence' is a drowsy drifting affair with whispery male vocals that not unsurprisingly nestles in perfectly with the Lavalle and Kosminen's main projects. Reidy mines the aching emotional depths with a delicate touch countered with a grand regality that has become the trademark of Icelandic bands. Guess it goes without saying that we'd highly recommend this to fans of Múm and The Album Leaf (and probably Sigur Ros too)...
