What the label says:

The Courteeners return to action early in 2008 with the release of a new single. ‘What Took You So Long?’ is the first opportunity for fans to hear the results of their recording with Stephen Street and is a taster for the band’s debut album, due in Spring 2008.

The band finish what has been a superb year with a sold out UK tour through December, including their biggest ever home town show at Manchester’s Ritz which, like all their home town gigs sold out on the day the tickets were released. They also play their biggest ever London show on the tour at Kings College. It follows what was probably the busiest show at Kings Cross Water Rats since another Manchester band played there at the start of their careers when the venue was known as the Splash Club.

2008 is setting up nicely for The Courteeners, with the band featuring heavily in ‘Tips for 2008’ polls and a 25 date tour lined up for Jan / Feb. WTYSL? is already added to daytime playlists and the band are confirmed to feature on T4 and Soccer AM. More to follow.

WTYSL? will be released on CD / Ltd individually numbered 7” / and a collectable etched 1 sided 7” of the live version of the track. Look out for a very special segway into the James classic ‘Tomorrow’. Acoustic download format also available.

About the humble CD single:

Another digital format and even though they can hold 80 minutes of information (like a CD album would) record companies only fill up a small portion of the disc. Sometimes only 1 or 2 tracks on there totalling 5 minutes or so. It's like going to a restaurant and getting a plate of food with 2 green beans on and wondering where the rest of your meal is. Sometimes they're lovingly packaged though and when the music is good then you're into a winner. Also you get videos on there sometimes which you can watch on your computer. That is excellent.
