D1:'I'm Loving' (Tempa) This one's a throwback to the golden age of rave, with soulful vocals to the fore and a deep bubbling bassline to please the masses. More on the current vogue for all things 'Bassline' or 'Niche' as the kids would have it. The Aside is most definetly not a dubstep tune but it fits neatly into the scene via it's reliance on the bass line. It is in fact a remix of a generic house tune co-opted via the anchor of the bass. Shall I mention Bass again! On the flip we have more of what you expect from Tempa; stepping out and melodic, dark and percussive across the two cuts.On I’m Lovin’ D1 comes with a fresh combination of dubstep and funky house rhythms, with this official re-lick of Ron Hall & Mark Evans house smash "The Way You Love me" (Defected Records). It’s gone down a storm everytime he’s dropped it at dubstep institutions FWD>> & DMZ, the 4x4 beats and uplifting vibe cutting through any dance. It is also featured on Caspa & Rusko’s forthcoming Fabric Live mix.
On the flip he explores a darker direction, with 2 tunes that have been featuring in scene tastemakers N-Type and Youngsta’s sets on dub for some time. Instep brings the halftime beats with a unique D1 twist, while Speed features an infectious jackin’ synth riff cutting through the mix.
