OVERVIEW: 14th Floor Records are proud to present the magnificent 'Moving To New York' by The Wombats released on 14th January on CD and 2 x 7 inch vinyl. Written and performed by The Wombats, 'Moving To New York' is produced with Stephen Harris (The Kaiser Chiefs). The single fully encapsulates The Wombats ethos of writing infectious, scuzzy indie-pop songs, served with an acid-wit that masks dark lyrical undertones of romantic despair and heartache. The track is backed by brilliant B-sides. The CD single features an awesome remix by hot new outfit Kyte. The 7" pic disc contains the band's genius live cover version of Bryan Adams' '(Everything I Do) I Do It For You' performed for XFM. The coloured numbered gatefold vinyl features an exclusive new remix by trance DJ-maestro-god Paul Van Dyk.

About the humble CD single:

Another digital format and even though they can hold 80 minutes of information (like a CD album would) record companies only fill up a small portion of the disc. Sometimes only 1 or 2 tracks on there totalling 5 minutes or so. It's like going to a restaurant and getting a plate of food with 2 green beans on and wondering where the rest of your meal is. Sometimes they're lovingly packaged though and when the music is good then you're into a winner. Also you get videos on there sometimes which you can watch on your computer. That is excellent.
