Disco Dancer by Parka thoroughly disturbs me to the point of not actually knowing what to write. Unfortunately it's release is a couple of weeks late as Christmas is the time for turkeys. To put it lightly this blows. For fans of The Automatic and Bravery on the 'used to be good' Jeepster label. 7" and CD for your sins.'Disco Dancer' was first released through indie tastemaker label Worst Case Scenario Records back in 2006. A live favourite; hardcore fans have long been calling for the re-release of the previously sold out single which won Zane Lowe’s ‘Fresh Meat’ on Radio 1 and was playlisted by XFM. Always eager to please their legion of fans, Parka re-recorded the track to produce a new, meatier version. Their efforts have paid off and support is already building for this release:

Potentially the first great Indie Anthem of the year!!! The proof of the pudding.... I played this blind to a crowd at a charity gig and it got peeps up and dancing like no other track that night. An infectous butt shaking headbangin' tune which should break PARKA into the next league of bands. Apparantly they're amazing live too. What more could you want. I'm off to buy a vinyl now!!!
