Love Is All: 'Make Out Fall Out' (The Bees Version) / 'Spinning & Scratching' (Metronomy remix) (Parlophone) The Bees turn in a hammond organ led funk/soul work out-wrought out of horn blasts, chanted vocals and a damn funky drum-break. The flip is like Tom Tom Club meets Rip Rig and Panic. Both the vocals, stabbed funk and screeching free-jazz horn blasts owe a debt to Tina Weymouth and Chris Franz's taunt funkology, the freaky freeness attitude coming on like Gareth Sager and Neneh Cherry's post-punk frolics. The 12" has mixes by Optimo, Chicken Lips and Studio. Recommended and almost single of the week (again).
