Stephanie Dosen: 'Songs From The Orchard' (Bella Union) 10" only release from the good folks who brought us the very fine Beach House album sometime last year. This is a six track dose of dreamy singer-songwriter melancholia with sadness and aching written all over it. Across both sides there's a combination of lilting electronics and soothing vocals that reminds me of the girl from the Sundays, possibly Dido or even The Corrs. This combination of synthetic beats, warm keyboard lines, subtle strum and wispy sounding strings makes for a encouraging collection of songs.
