Here's Wolf People on the Battered Ornaments label which in case you didn't know is an offshoot of the Finders Keepers label. This label reminds me of what Twisted Nerve started doing back in their hay day. This is a prime pork filled cut of 60's psych pop. 2 absolutely crack(l)ing tunes as well. Nice 'Tomorrow Never Knows' style drums with airy fairy vocals and angry psych guitar dominate the A side (Storm Cloud). It's a brilliant tune actually. The flipside is more wicked pop with a nursery rhyme folk ish thing happening with the vocals. There's even a flute chucked into the mix for maximum 60's compatibility. I'm extremely impressed by this. Right I'm off for a bacon sarnie now (like the good jewish boy I am.)Wolf People return with a double A-sided slab of swampy psych genius. ·Strictly Limited to 500 hand numbered copies.·Wolf People are a five piece from London. On their records they deliver beat driven psych blues with searing tube guitars and distorted harmonica, whilst live they mix ferocious buzz flute with drum-heavy acid rock. They draw influence from Beefheart, Can, Turkish psych, delta blues, English folk and west-coast acid rock to produce a vital and unique sound. That is not to say that they let the ‘sound’ overshadow traditional song-craft; the arrangements and lyrics are concise, intelligent, powerful and beautiful.·This strictly limited vinyl only release is the fifth release from Battered Ornaments Records, an independent label headed by Doug Shipton (Finders Keepers/Twisted Nerve) with a DIY aesthetic producing lovingly made limited 7” vinyl runs of off-kilter independent music housed in jaw dropping sleeves created by top artists and graphic designers.
