What the label says:

We have previously had the album on vinyl from Squirrel, heres the US only CD. The Manhattan Love Suicides have only been together for just over a year , but already they have recorded this debut album which was released on CD only at the end of 2006 on U.S based Magic Marker Records (Tullycraft , BOAT , The Softies etc...) 12 lo-fi fuzzed up female fronted pop / noise nuggets that recall the likes of early Jesus And Mary Chain , The Shop Assistants , Galaxie 500  and My Bloody Valentine, with even a bit of Sonic Youth mimimalism and Velvet Underground inspired drones aswell. No frills , 3 chords wonderful pop with the amps turned up to maximum volume , The Manhattan Love Suicides have been receiving lots of attention (especially in the U.S) and have recently played the SXSW Festival in Austin , Texas followed by a handful of shows in New York and Washington DC , before returning home to the UK to headline at The Luminaire in London. They're picking up a reputation for loud , short , sharp , feedback heavy gigs that rarely last longer than 20 minutes.Their philosophy is simply "hit and run". The Manhattan Love Suicides definitely won't be taking it easy any time soon. The CD version of the album has received great reviews on Pitchfork (7/10) and Plan B.

About the humble CD:

The CD is essentially a small portable face mirror which has an extra feature of being able to play music (through a thing known as a CD player). These CD's are a modern invention hence them being all shiny and digital. They can hold about 80 minutes of music and apparently are indestructible as you can smear jam on them and they still play (not as nourishing as toast mind you but when you're hungry.....). They sound crystal clear and are tiny convenient things. They lack the charm and warmth of their old analogue counterparts but their portability, convenience and ease of being duplicated make them a perfect thing of a thing for most folks. Jewel cases are the worst thing ever though and they really need to stop.
