The Black Arts - Christmas Number One

Christmas Number One by The Black Arts

4...according to our on Wed 05 Dec, 2007.

Art Brut and Black Box Recorder have teamed together to form the Black Arts and it being the season to be jolly here's their xmas smash single 'Christmas Number One' (not Christine Number One which I spastically called it on the site for a while). This is a glam stompy fun packed journey through Christmas and it's well funny.... all very tongue in cheek and actually very entertaining. It's cheesy and possibly a bit novelty but it's not vaguely annoying which is tres unusual for this type of thing. On xmas themed green wax. 7" only!!

Christmas number 1 by The Black Arts is a collaborative single by Britain's finest art noir group: Black Box Recorder, and Britain's finest  punk  art group: Art Brut. A genuine celebration of Christmas with a song written by John Moore and Luke Haines, clearly influenced by Slade, Wizzard, ‘Ernie The Fastest Milkman In The West’, William Burroughs and War Of The Worlds.  There was only one person who could convey this message of good cheer, their dear pal Eddie Argos (Art Brut). The limited edition 7” (limited to 1000 copies) comes on festive green vinyl and features the B side ‘Glam Casual’ written and performed by Eddie Argos.
