Also bright and brashy is Candy Panic Attack with a fun little 7" on Cherryade Records. I'm drawn to this for title... The 'Fruit is Nature's Candy' EP is a 6 tracker chocka with energy and attitude. The bass is uber grungy.... it drags along the floor like a fat dying crocodile. Think Help She Can't Swim, the early Slampt bands....that kind of thing. There's something a bit crap about this, but that's it's charm and that is something it has in spades. Most entertaining! What the label says:Mixing punk, riot grrl & joyful ineptitude with fizzy pop tunes that go nicely with a cup of tea & a sherbet dip-dab. Fuelled by chaos, sweets and tea, with a collective love for 2-minute hit and run punk pop songs, CPA are the perfect antidote to boring over-produced three songs per half hour indie schmindie bands. This 7”ep is released on bubblegum pink vinyl and features 6 short sharp blasts of pure candy pop genius. ‘Whether by accident or design, Candy Panic Attack's CD even smells sweet! These 3 tracks of lo-fi riot grrrl punk rock resemble a grungier version of Helen Love, and mighty fine they are too.
