The Bobby Mcgee's - S' Amuser Com Des Fous

S' Amuser Com Des Fous by The Bobby Mcgee's

The Bobby McGee's: 'S'Amuser Com des Fous' (Cherryade Music) Starts out all kids at play style nursery rhymes and then some..In fact it sounds like the sort of music that may accompany a kids tv programme that's aimed as much at the supervising adult. The McGee's sound like a duo, what with their call and response vocals or argument-counter argument style rambles along in a list style. The backing turns from simple folk strum to a middle Europe oompa lumpa themed polka. Fans of Just Joan will like the twee quaintness.

The Bobby McGee’s  hail from Brighton  and are one of the most exciting bands around today with their inspired ukulele-loaded tweecore, fabulous costumes and the kind of songs that most bands can only dream of. They have been described variously as "domestic violence with ukuleles" (Totally Bored), "creators of tweecore" (Source Magazine), and "Dostoyevsky doing Lonnie Donnigan" (Everett True), and have been championed by the likes of Radio 1’s Huw Stephens and Rob Da Bank and Plan B’s Everett True and the NME and stealing the show at festivals including Bestival, Latitude, Indie Tracks and  Sweden’s Emma Boda.  This is the band’s second ep and The six songs on offer here are lovely, funny and occasionally just a little bit sinister and like nothing you will hear this year,  truly a record to fall in love with

The Bobby mcGees are the most interesting and charming band i've heard in years. I was lucky enough to get a promo copy, just buy it, theres so much on here its a wee twee journey from happy to sad to angry to.... christmas... and the whole six songs come in under 13 minutes. Genius. i'm definitely buying a copy 'cos there out on blue 7' soon.
