Who'd have thought that having someone stick needles into you could be relaxing. That's incredible that is... Which leads me onto Acupuncture Man with their 'My Way My Love' 7" on Blowout. This is a right old noisy rock thrash up. Heavy, distorted, disjointed, slightly aggressive, jerky and bursting with energy. Plenty of feedback and the drums sound like they were recorded next door. There's a rigid structure to the track though. Not a million miles from Sonic Youth's Evol / Sister era. 'Kill Your Idol' on the flip sounds especially inspired by said yoof.‘My Way My Love’ is a truly great noise rock band fronted by mastermind Yukio Murata alongside his bandmates Takeshi Owaki and Dai Hiroe. These creative tunesmiths have crafted new sounds that will have fans of Black Dice, Sonic Youth, Wire, The Boredoms and Wolf Eyes gasping in awe at the sheer wonder of their music. These noisemakers have forged a new alignment with melody, experimentation and punk to come up with something of their own in their explosive debut album ‘JOY’.
